All my experiences have led me to exactly where I am supposed to be. I am grateful that through real estate, I can follow my passions, connect with people and make a meaningful difference in their lives.
I’ve always understood the value of having a sense of “home.” Ten years ago, before I was a REALTOR®, I decided to join my church on a mission trip to the Appalachian area in Kentucky. We were helping those who needed improvements done to their homes. My group of eight was assigned to help a woman living in a small mountain-side house. She had no sewage system, and the water for her home came directly from a spring.
There was plenty of work for our group to do, and we began right away. After getting to know her more, I asked her, “How would you feel if we helped you organize and freshen up your living space?” She was hesitant but said, “Well, if you want to, but you don’t have to.”
From there, we got to work. I had her walk me through her home and show me all the things that mattered most to her. We went through old boxes, and she shared photos and stories of her most cherished memories. Over the next several days, we cleaned, organized, and even painted the walls. We bought supplies in the local town so we could decorate her home and hang her dearest framed memories on the wall. By the end of the trip, we had become family. We sat on the couch together, holding hands – she was very grateful for everything we did. It was the most rewarding experience to help transform her house and make it special just for her.
When I was a little girl, my father built my brother and me a tiny house in the woods. We lived in an apartment, and he decided to create a special place for us. The tiny home even had a porch and shingles on the roof. I felt so lucky to have a dad who wanted us to feel at home and who would create something just for us.
My parents would take us on adventures all the time when we were younger. We would go to all sorts of places and look at buildings and homes across the countryside. I have vivid memories of hiking through the woods hoping to find an old, abandoned home to explore. I continued the tradition of “adventuring” with my family. If there was a for sale sign, we would check it out. It was so exciting to see what unique characteristics were hidden within every home.
When I moved away from Upstate New York, I felt like I had lost the feeling of home and didn’t find it again until moving to Loudoun County 30 years ago. It was amazing to develop a deep connection with the community and the people in it. When I started in real estate, I was excited to share my love for this community. I worked in insurance for 31 years, but insurance was never my passion; people were.
Real estate has been an excellent opportunity for me to make a difference. I have kept in touch with the woman I helped on the mission trip because I deeply valued our connection. Over the years, I continued to help her in any way I could – I do the same for my clients. This is more than a job to me; my work can transform people’s lives. I take the responsibility seriously and do whatever it takes to achieve my clients’ dreams. Every day I get to do something I am deeply passionate about, and I’m very grateful for that. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, bringing people together and spending time with family and friends.
The most rewarding transactions are the ones that push me to find new, creative solutions to problems. There’s nothing like helping someone achieve something they thought was impossible. One of my greatest strengths in real estate is listening to my clients and recognizing the most meaningful way I can help them. Whether it’s finding their “home” or saying goodbye to their current one, I want to deliver what matters to them in the most seamless and effective way possible.
When you work with me, I will coordinate every element of the transaction to ensure even the smallest detail is covered. As a REALTOR®, I can have many roles at once, including educator, mediator, professional advocate, stager, and negotiator – everything comes together to create an exceptional experience for you. I am confident that my experience and ability to listen, care, and handle complex circumstances will exceed your expectations. Even after the transaction is over, I will continue to support you as your lifelong friend and REALTOR®.
